Who Are You?

I strongly believe that the clothes you wear and the accessories you choose to add on say a lot about who you are. It's your own unique way of telling strangers a little something about yourself without really telling them (which definitely comes in handy for those more on the shy side). This is something I've always struggled with. My style is constantly changing. And, yes. That is a picture of me (and friends) from high school. Don't judge. I'm the blonde in the solid navy blue romper. That picture signifies the start of my style discovery. Although it's not so noticeable from this picture, I love the bohemian, 60's look. I still find myself drawn to that style today. And, you can definitely see that through all of my accessories and even some of my clothes. Even after all the phases I've gone through -- tomboy (from when I actually played sports), preppy-Hollister (oh, how I hated middle school), extremely girly (I only ever wore high heels in my beginning years of high school), boho (my later years of high school and mostly college), to what I now call simplistic boho (more of a classic style with hints of boho) -- this style trend has stayed with me the longest. It's a part of who I've defined myself to be. So now that you know a little about me, who are you? Take this fun style quiz from Marie Claire and let me know your results!

Candy-Coated Spring

Nothing says "Welcome to spring!" like a new, candy-coated handbag. Coming from the person who doesn't really care too much for spring, I have to say, I really do love these bright, candy-coated hues: fuchsia purple, navy blue, bright green, crisp white, and of course, a striking yellow. They're the perfect addition to any wardrobe this spring! These colors are featured in Charming Charlie's new line of handbags (as seen left). Compared to older lines, this new line contains impressively chic hardware as well as clever, tech-friendly pockets. They're completely versatile and possess nothing but the best materials for your money. The Handbag Event is not something you want to miss. I highly recommend checking it out (and not just because I work there). If I was anything but a college student, I definitely would be buying these bags up. Even the wallets are fabulous! They feature all these vibrant colors in a color-block style, and would be perfect even into summer. If you're interested in learning more, check out their website here. These new handbags would be a striking addition to any spring look!

Statements, Styles, & Smiles

What accessory pulls your look together? Is it a statement necklace? A watch? Or are you the kind of person who prefers to not wear any jewelry at all? Working at Charming Charlie for the past three years has me constantly thinking about these sorts of questions with everyone whom I meet. A little weird, I know, but that's me. And for those of you who may not know what Charming Charlie is, it's an accessory store (mainly jewelry) completely organized by color. Best thing ever. Really. You should go. I'll even take you there. But, I'll try not to get ahead of myself just yet. This blog is for those of you who love to accessorize, and also for those of you who don't. Working as a "Charmer" for the past three years has allowed me to perfect not only the way I accessorize myself, but my friends and strangers, too. Take this neckline cheat sheet as your first tool (courtesy of Charming Charlie's Pinterest page). Push yourself to step outside of your comfort zone. If you never wear necklaces, try one! This guide will help to decide what kind of necklace will look best depending on your top's neckline. Feel free to let me know if it worked, or if you have any other questions, comments, suggestions, etc. I'm always here. Believe me. I'm a college student. My life revolves around my laptop.
